Resources for Women & Minorities in Science
Chancellor’s Advisory Committee on the Status of Women (CACSW) — retention, promotion, and mentoring for women in science. Data on status of women at UCSF can be downloaded. This group is quite active on campus, initiating the first “Mentoring Mania” event for students and postdocs, and other events. statusofwomen.ucsf.edu
sfAWIS (San Francisco chapter of Association for Women in Sciences) — This active group hosts periodic seminars and social events. Women from industry as well as academia attend. This is a great way to build your professional network. www.sfawis.com
Center for Gender Equity (CGE) — The Center For Gender Equity provides leadership development and educational programs, advocacy and support services to both women and men at UCSF and the greater San Francisco Bay Area. Our programs and services are designed to promote the personal and professional development of faculty, students and staff on campus and create opportunities for the advancement women at UC and in the community at large. www.ucsf.edu/cge
Minority Graduate Student Organization (MGSO) — We are graduate students of color at UCSF committed to fostering a supportive community for the professional development, mentorship, retention and recruitment of students of color.
